BATTERSEA IRONSIDES 2-1 CRESCENT ROVERS
It was a busy bank holiday weekend for the Ironsides, who were playing their second game in three days. A close encounter, the Ironsides took the lead early on through a solo Ian Peddle goal. They continued to press for a second, but 10 minutes before half time, a controversial penalty was awarded to Crescent Rovers, which they dispatched to bring the scores level. In the second half, the Ironsides continued to press, missing several chances. But with ten minutes to go, a ball played into the box was held up by Ian Peddle, and after several attempts, Theo Parker's effort took a deflection and ended up in the Crescent goal, giving the Ironsides a 2-1 victory, and their first 3 points of the season.
